Special Education Needs

At Overton Preschool Playgroup we provide an environment in which all children are supported to reach their full potential. We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who works alongside a child’s keyperson, providing them with support and activities for children with a variety of specific needs and disabilities.

 

Observations are used to produce an assessment, which highlights areas of development that may need to be focused on. Progress is evidenced in a child’s Learning Journey, and personal plans are written to support learning in the preschool or playgroup and also in the home. These are reviewed termly to assess progress.

Overton Preschool Playgroup has generous staff/child ratios, enabling staff to give every child extra attention and allowing the SENCO time to focus on children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
